Billed by Jaguar as an "ultra high performance" sports sedan, the all-new XFR-S will make its world premiere this Wednesday at the opening (press) day of the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show. The Indian-owned British automaker has followed up on last week's initial announcement about the debut with a second teaser image that shows the car's flamboyant rear wing with a carbon fiber center section.
While Jaguar has not released specifications, it claims the XFR-S will be "the fastest and most powerful saloon" in the company's 67-year long history (90 years if you include Sir William Lyons' Swallow Sidecar Company that preceded it).
However, from what we've heard, the XFR-S will be fitted with a modified version of the regular XFR's 5.0-liter supercharged V8 producing somewhere around 540hp.
Jaguar said that in the U.S., the second model of its R-S range after the XKR-S Coupe, will be made available in just 200 examples making it "one of the most exclusive Jaguar models ever".
