The Lexus LF-CC concept was unwrapped at the Paris Motor Show today, showcasing the evolution of the automaker’s bold design language. Lexus says the LF-CC concept paves the way for a new mid-size coupe and sedan in the near future, which could very well be the next-generation IS.
Lexus’ corporate spindle grille on the LF-CC is much more dramatic, opening wider than on current Lexus cars. It has a long hood and short overhang which could hint it’s rear-drive. Stuffed under that long hood is a 2.5-liter I-4, bolstered by the familiar Toyota/Lexus hybrid system that’s been tweaked for more power and torque. Also like Toyota and Lexus hybrid engines, it runs on the Atkinson cycle.
Inside, the LF-CC displays its Human Machine Interface technology, with a sleek shift lever, huge display in the center stack, and a new take on the Lexus remote touch controller. As for rivals in this segment, the coupe based off the LF-CC will do battle with the BMW 4 Series and Mercedes C-Class coupes.
