It’s Friday, and Jaguar unveiled a brilliant new way to waste some time: by letting you use a new configurator website for the new F-Type convertible.
While the Jaguar site doesn’t make the configuration process as intricate as, say, Porsche’s sites, there’s a fair amount of customization to be had. Design aficionados can change the exterior metal and folding softtop colors, as well as the wheel design (in 19″ or 20″). On the inside, Jag offers optional sport seats with contrast stitching (choose red and it’ll match the optional red seatbelts), and one of two high-powered Meridian sound systems for maximum aural enjoyment. Granted, the F-Type V8 S’ 5.0-liter supercharged V-8 engine (which makes 490 hp) should be an audible form of entertainment as well.
The best part about this whole process (of configuring) is that you’ll never have to look at a price in the configurator if you don’t want to, as it should be in dreams. If you are curious, however, Jaguar says its 340-hp F-Type starts at $69,000, the 380-hp F-Type S starts at $81,000, and the 495-hp F-Type V8 S starts at a stout $92,000. With a few choice options, the F-Type will easily crest $100,000.
